The USN fact file has a page on Sub Base Pearl Harbor. Unfortunately uncle Sam blocks IP adresses from this area so I could not read the page at all. But Google cache listed some of it and mentioned Subron Four among others for the WWII era.

Sorry, I can't help too much there. "Silent Victory" has a list of Subrons with CO's listed on page 889, but not where the Squadrons were stationed, other than Odd numbers squadrons were stationed in the Atlantic.
One thing though, it was not uncommon for boats to shift between Squadrons, or Divisions within Squadrons. A boat might leave Mare Island after overhaul, go to Pearl and become part of Subron there, then detach, leave for a Patrol off Formosa and proceed to Fremantle and join a Subron there.
The story of Squadron 12, and the infamous H.O.R. engines is a good example of some of the dancing around that had to be done.
indeed, thanks guys :)
SubRon 6 it is
and also bedtime lol
now i can sleep cuz i know itll be realistic (to a degree)
:P
i can even "assign" *some* boats cuz i know their names from this
http://www.niehorster.orbat.com/013_usa/_41_usn/pac-scout_subs_6.html
plus have realistic missions, like attacking the invasion forces at Wake, looking for the jap carriers
sounds fun :D
