Really slow for no reason...I think?!?!

Ok so i've been playing SH3 for a while now and from time to time its slow. But thats because from time to time im downloading southpark and family guy episodes using limewire, around 125-150MBs big, no problem, i delete them every so often. But when i started my 16th patrol things got really slow. For example it took me ONE HOUR to get out of port, thats using 164TC. I mean i cant efficiently run my uboat if my PC is going that slow. When i look at the map my sub's icon is just jugging allong, going fast, stopping, going fast, stopping, going slow, then going slower, then it repeats. I dont know whats causing this. I was finally pushed to the edge, i took out my colt 45 and put a few rounds in it.:rock::rock:


Just joking, i did something much more worst. I deleted all of my downloaded episodes and deleted alot of my downloaded songs.:damn::damn::damn::damn:

Now onething that might be the cause of this is the fact i downloaded SH3 Gen and the Minitweeker and Wolfie's Tweek Pack, i've only used these after the 16th patrol.

I ran the Detection tool with SH3 and everything is at the Minimum to run the game except Main Memory, But it always said i was low in Main Memory and that wasnt a real problem. But i dont know anymore.

This is interesting...maybe, but when im in my sub (playing the game) the mouse moves really slow, but when i hit the escape button, so i can save or exit my patrol the mouse moves at normal speed.

So i ask you Captains out there to help me solve this problem.
Coudl it be because i used the Minitweeker to change the range of my sonar, radar and HP? Or is it something else????

what is the appearence of your game at tc level indicated
coasting slow.?

how does your lag manifest itself I am assuming you mean
real time not game time when you say an hour.

Turn of Antialiasing in your windows display settings.
Dont DL when playing the game.
Dont have virus software running or limewire in the background.

The game looks normal when its slow. when i go to an external view it looks like a "screenshot", then it will move normally for about 2-5 seconds then its a "screenshot" again, then rinse and repeat as directed.

When i say ONE HOUR i mean i go to the bank, then to blockbuster, then talk to my girlfriend then go back to my computer and see that my sub moved about an inch.

Now at first i thought this slowed down game was because i used the minitweeker to increase the detection range on my sonar, radar and hydrophone, each to 50,000. Maybe SH3 is just slow because of that? i dont know, i changed all of the ranges back to normal but it doesnt seem to fix the problem.

O and when im looking at the map or in the uboat, the sounds repeat and stuff like that.

Yeah before these problems started getting bad i noticed when i played with limewire the game was slower, but not this slower.
So no limewire----check

Um i dont download stuff when im playing
soo no downloading----check

I have Macfee Virus check,, every so often, usually when im playing SH3 it will pop up and say it wants to update, not really a big problem.

I'm, connected to the internet (via wireless) and i have Aim always on, is that bad.

How do i turn off Antialiasing in my windows display settings??

Do you have SH3Gen running in the background still when this happens ?

My system is low end and after running SH3Gen I left the plotting room open and my game was laggy too

SH2 Gen running?? I only started using this recently, so that might be the problem.

Hmmm i dont quite understand you when u say left SH3 Gen running.
all i do when i use SH3 Gen is load my saved game, click generate and when the Intel report opens up i click out of it and exit SH3 Gen and then start my game. I dont know wat u mean when you say "left the plotting room open"

I am using SH3 Gen v0.7.1

o I just remembered before i started the 16th patrol i opened up SH3 Commander and looked at the grid i was going to patrol in, it said 0, i was a little confused, cause i didnt transfer to another port, i was in my home port and it didnt say NULL, it just had a ZERO for my grid. Now when i launch SH3 i dont use SH3 Commander. But i know in previous careers, SH3 Commander will "retire" you after a number of patrols, is that happening? and when i noticed the ZERO for my grid, i put in ET55, outside of Freetown, i wanted to go down and raid that port and get credit for doing my 24 hour patrol. But that wouldnt cause the game to slow down, would it???

Everything is fine, i played SH3 and sank the HMS Nelson, well more like flipped it over:arrgh!:. I think it was SH3 Gen that was causeing the problem, i didnt use it this time, haha. thanks for all ur help
