Every time you load your game all vessels respawn as are written into the programme :yep:
Hell I once sunk the King George V four times in the same career

Pretty sure I read that once a ship is sunk in SH4 it wont spawn again
Did I ? Sure I did
Might mean the operations are a bit light on warships later in the war if you sink em early
lol

Yep, respawn. One career, just for fun, I kept going back to the same spot to find the same ship. Got old fast.

well as i say that will shoten the lifespan of the game but on the other hand there will be a lot of warships i imagine?? so i doubt it will get light on warships towards the end. it just depends on how the game is coded. you never know the AI might absolute uber to make us stay away from em as much as poss.

Keep in mind that you sank a Battleship of the Nelson "Class", not necessarily the Nelson herself (Admittedly a very small class, but it might have been the Rodney).

The game only gives you the class of the ship, not the actual name. So if you sink the "King George V", you may have actually sunk the Prince of Wales, Duke of York, Howe or Anson instead. As already mentioned by many others, the game of course, doesn't really track individual ship (or even class) losses, but the above does provide a semi-reasonable rationale for bumping into the same ship type again (Course if you sink three Nelson class, when they only made two the rationale goes out the window, but Hey, were playing an alternate version of history anyway, whose to say they didn't build three of them in this alternate universe).

If you sink the KGV in GWX then you have sunk the KGV
The other ships of the class have their own models

The original poster, didn't say he was using GWX, so I assumed he was using stock. But a good point that the rationale doesn't hold water (if you'll pardon the expression) :) when applied to the major capital ships in GWX.
