Many of you might already know this link, but I think it is worth posting it here because it has many pictures about almost any ship that ever was in the US navy, plus conmemorative postcards, pictures during construction in the yards, ceremony of launching, crew, battle flags and emblems (Which you can copy for your virtual conning tower):

I have had great pleasure browsing that web while reading Silent Victory and seen how the people, boats and ships refered to in the text really looked like.

Thanks for bringing that site up. Was able to see my old boat (USS Segundo SS398) I was there for the decomissioning ceremony on 1 Aug 70, unfortunately one week later she was target bait, and now lies on the bottom off San Francisco.......RIP
