The great Herbert Schultze was famous for having sent the following message, in English, after sinking the Firby 11 September 1939:
"cq - cq- cq - transmit to Mr. Churchill. I have sunk the British steamer "Firby". Posit 59.40 North and 13.50 West. Save the crew, if you please.
German submarine."
So I'm curious - if you were to send an open radio message to good old Winston, what would it be?
Mine would be:
cq-cq-cq - transmit to Mr. Churchill. Had tea with HMS Hood and HMS Revenge, Scapa Flow. Argued over who got last crumpet. They lost.
