I know it's a bit OT but I'm tired of hearing that the DE is a 'metal box full of junk'.By saying that you run down guys like me who bought it. I agree that the DE contains some things that are not really necessary but what you guys from the US seem to forget is that we only get the documentary by buying the DE. That's actually the only reason for me (and for many others I assume) to buy the DE. So please get off one's high horse!:ping:

I guess 'stuff' would have been a better word to use rather than 'junk'. The point I was trying to make was that all I want is the game plus a good User Manual, map and quick reference card.

It depends.

Sometimes they ship a day or so early so people get their games on the release date. There was another time though (can't remember which product), where one of my buddies got his Ubisoft title 1 day before release. However, I pre-ordered from Ubi one time and some of the stores in my area had the product in stock, but Ubisoft still hadn't shipped my copy. lol

I pre-ordered mine from Ubisoft with Next-Day Air shipping, so I'm hoping I can get mine maybe a day before retail shelf release.

The dates listed on the EB Games websites are the dates products are shipped, not in-store. Usually add 1 day, sometimes more, to see the date that the product will actually arrive in the store and be put out for sale.

Seeing that we're in the EU, I expect it too come to my home in around one week. If it were schengen, I would get it in a day or 2, but customs takes some time. Atleast, we no longer need to pay custom tax (20% on the original price+VAT together).

Technically that's the date that you should be able to walk into a brick and mortar retailer and purchase a copy off the shelf. I imagine many retailers ship orders on that day and others may ship a little earlier taking shipping time into account. The retailers in my local area have pushed back the release date from March 15th to the 22nd.

In your case, I would just wait for the EU release. Having to deal with all the customs nonsense is too time consuming. Ubisoft's shipping times are a toss-up, but many I have spoken to seem pretty satisfied with the delivery speed. I wouldn't worry. :)

Just happened to read the collectors edition info at Amazon UK and noticed they are now advertising a making of DVD with their edition of the game... don't know if it's a mistake or not, but I'd actually prefer that to the soundtrack CD.

It would be nice if Neal as he is in the loop or someone for UBISOFT would answer the different threads so the we won't be left hanging for the next few days.I pre ordered from Ubisoft store yesterday and before I did I called and customer service said it would ship on Monday and I ordered overnight shipping.Thats what the man said so I hope thats what will take place.

Neal doesn't work for Ubi and likely doesn't have direct ties with their marketing/shipping departments so I doubt he knows anything more than us on the subject.
