No Waypoints

Anyone ever run a patrol without using any waypoints on the map? Just give your navigator a direction and a speed and off you go in your Type IX? I did it last patrol. Kinda fun, especially when I had to manuever in close to a supply boat, Corrientes, to refuel and get a load of new torps.

I've done it a lot of times. It helps when you run a higher TC with god's eye view and suddenly get a contact, you don't have to erase miles of waypoints then.

I find that without waypoints I tend to drift too much for my liking, especially at higher TC's...

You've got the point here High Voltage. That is a downside, isn't it? Especially in a bad weather, correction of the course is pretty frequent then.

That's the part I like less when I play with manual navigation. Stupid helmsmen can't keep the boat on course on surface when the wind picks up. With very bad weather it's no problem as I am mostly submerged and just surface for reload, but with medium rough conditions you have to keep an eye on the compass. As I use max 128 TC and the big 6 dials, I usually don't drift too far away from course though... With manual navigation it is very important to try to keep the boat on course otherwise after 2 or 3 days of cloudy weather you can end far away from where you think you are...:D

Select the Triangle and press Shift-Delete, ALL waypoints will be deleted.
