So there I was.....as you know I do not get past, oh say, 1941:oops: so I decided to start a new career in 1945. Got my new shiny VIIC decked with AA/radar...you know, the works. Sailed out of Bergan and had my arse promptly sunk in AN26. Good golly Miss Molly:o I was spanked by aircraft like there was no tomorrow....and for me there was not tomorrow. I'm hitting rewind and going back to 1940:smug:

Yup 45 was a really bad year for U-boats for example 123 U-boats lost in 1945 and 75% were with all hands god rest there souls.

Personally i rarely started a career game before 1942. Its just too boring and too easy.
42 and 43 i think are the best times to start. Besides, it takes a LONG time to get through two years of war in sh3, let alone all of them.

No no!! Come back to 1939. I'm, dare I say it, on the verge of finishing my first patrol. Only two torps left and all shells expended! Of course there was nothing bigger than a small merchant and the eels prob cost more than them. But i may see what a second patrol looks like. I'm expecting a big parade when i dock. In fact if I do dock I'm gonna wake up the missus and demand a parade. And a sandwich cos I'm hungry

I usually start in 1941 but do not make it to far so as a kick off for SH4 I decided to start a later career and well end it really quickly:oops:

I frickin' did it! :D Even got a medium merchant on the way home. Alright it was only 19872 tons but not bad for a first patrol off harwich. OK a first patrol on the seventh time of asking. Was tempted to bag a dutch lightship on the way to push up past the 20000 mark. I even docked old U109. Brought a tear to my eye:yep: Now 4 hours sleep and off to work:rock:

No parade and no sandwich  A bit of abuse though. In fact because I stayed up until 2am playing a game I slept in, was late for work and didn't have time to make a packed lunch and so had the honour of paying 5 quid for some squashed bread posing unconvincingly as a panini:damn:
