I just got my 2007 Subsim Almanac in the mail yesterday when I came home from work, ravaged my way through the Fort Knox packaging job (at least it seemed that way considering how excited I was to get it open!), and began reading.
I didn't stop.
In spite of being called to dinner, asked to take out the garbage and walk the dog...
I kept reading.
I laughed out loud (O-ooo-DIN!). I cried (No, I really did, the Topp Memoriam was REALLY moving. Rest well, Sir.). Of course, I was doing these things while my wife happened to be watching TV, much to her displeasure.
I tried my best to explain why we needed to rent Vikings.
And yet more was to be found within those pages.
"What is your obsession with dozens of lonely sweaty men spending weeks trapped within a steel tube?" My wife cried, as I interupted Vegas for the umpteenth time.
"I dunno, dear" I said. "Blame Neal and Subsim.com, my passion would have died out long ago otherwise."
I'm afraid her reply would only be filtered out by the languange filters on this forum, and even be too strong for the most seasoned sailor to hear.
Thanks to Neal and all its contributors for putting the 2007 Subsim Almanac together. This has by far been one of the best purchases I've made this year.
Thanks SUBSIM!!!
