Bad Inventions. Machine guns, slums, prisons, child labor, bad hygiene, the Black Plague, concentration camps, you name it. If it hurts people, the British probably came up with it.

Slums: Is it even possible to invent a slum?

Bad Hygene? :rotfl:

Black Plague: Someone needs to do their research....

quote: "Who would the money go to, and how would it be distributed?

Everyone has suffered the consequences of the Evil Empire. We proposed to distribute the reparations monies equally between all the people of the world. Dividing a £31 trillion settlement between 6.5 billion people gives us roughly £4,770 or $8,350 for every man, woman, and child on earth. It's far from enough, but it's a start."

Cool!
I have a wife and 2 kids. So that makes roughly 19.080 British pounds sterling.
Enough for me and my family, as a start, if you ask me.

More re-distribution of wealth and buying the vote. I despise these people.

I dont agree with all of it, but if you look at the british empire days they practically went sailing around trying and most case succeeding in colonising every continnent bent on we natives should live the british way - New Zealand is one such country, Australia is another we live under british law or taken their laws. But having said that Maoris did the same before the Maori there were people in this land called the Mori-hori which most Maoris refuse to accept they ever existed otherwise they cannot say we were the first on this land therefore we have all land rights. Shssh you didn't hear this from kiwi but Mori Hori WERE the first. We conquered and wiped out all but a few and sent them off to an island to live on.
Also i always tell those pro NZ only movements who tend to blame everything thats british that we were very lucky to be invaded by the british they at least had morals and let us live alongside them. If we were invaded by the White South Africans whom by history tried to beat the british here, we would of all being either wiped out ( their was less than 50 thousand of us back then) by them or become slaves under a SA NZ apartied rule.

Anyways we get back our revenge when we beat england in rugby :p

Sorry Steed no offense :)

Under the careless watch Britain's elite, the Industrial Revolution got off to a horrible start, the consequences of which have continued to ring down through the centuries. The melting of the polar icecaps, the loss of countless plants and animal species, and the imperiled condition of the human race on a planet made poisonous by misapplied technology are all a consequence of British negligence and hunger to accumulate wealth at any cost.

Bollocks. Was there some set of regulations tacked up somewhere in 1780 on how to properly conduct an industrial revolution? People always want to judge the past by todays high standards. Unfortunately evolution is painfully and messy. Nobody even knew they were going through an industrial revolution back then or called it that until it was half over...and industralization wasn't any prettier in France or Prussia or the USA. As for the colonizing the less-developed world somebody was going do it. Spain and Portugal were the ones who started the ball rolling. Certainly Russia didn't end up sprawling across the northern half of Asia because the natives there loved the taste of vodka.

OK - Don't let me point out the obvious or anything, but how the hell are we supposed to move forward toward the future if we are all stuck worrying about not only what happened in the past and how we can right a wrong from 1000 years ago, but on top of that, we are all worried about how we might offend the guy next to us for simply stating how you feel about a subject?

Another example - I think Italy has some big coughing up to do if the British have to cough up like this since I kind of think that Rome stepped on all our toes at one point in time

PC'ness combined with living in the past is the world we live in today. To me, I think it is the end of the world since it will take an overthrow of our civilization to put it back on track. Or at least a major upset. Maybe Islam is going to make that purpose known and though we will crush it eventually, it will upset things well enough to make everyone quit being such babies. Best analogy I can think of right there.

-S

PS. I do have a solution to the worlds problems by the way - it can go like this - all societies stepped on each other toes at some point in time, so I think they all owe each other $37 Trillion. Everyone pay up and lets get on with life. Oh! Hey! Looks like everyone is paid up since they all owe each other the same amount! Wow! Imagine that! All prolems solved. Done. Next please!?

And Noah began to be a master of the soil, and he planted a vineyard.
And he drank of the wine and became drunk, and he uncovered himself within his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness, and he told his two brothers outside.
And Shem and Japheth took the garment, and they placed [it] on both of their shoulders, and they walked backwards, and they covered their father's nakedness, and their faces were turned backwards, so that they did not see their father's nakedness.
And Noah awoke from his wine, and he knew what his small son had done to him.
And he said, "Cursed be Canaan; he shall be a slave among slaves to his brethren."
And he said, "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem, and may Canaan be a slave to them.
May God expand Japheth, and may He dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be a slave to them."
And Noah lived after the Flood, three hundred and fifty years.
And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.

"The Sages of the Talmud have two opinions about what actually transpired: "Rab and Samuel differ, one maintaining that Ham castrated him, while the other that he sodomized him." [Sanhedrin 70a] What both opinions have in common is the incredible rage Ham directed toward Noah.

Let us consider what Ham's world-view must have been. He had grown up, surrounded by a culture of violence, thievery and sexual licentiousness. And then he saw that his father's passivity caused the destruction of his world. His actions seem an expression of Ham's rage and disdain at that passivity. Furthermore, we must not overlook the fact that Noah was the only good and just man in his generation. That means that his children were like the rest of the lot. They were saved from the flood totally on their father's merit. It would seem that Noah failed even in educating his own children. Noah's passivity -- of which his nakedness is a metaphor -- was evident in all his relationships.

Noah lives for some 300 years after the flood, fathering children, witnessing the birth of numerous descendants, countless future generations. What message does Noah impart to his descendants? Again, or still, it seems that Noah remains passive; he has nothing to say, as if the rest of his life remains clouded by this intoxication, even when the world around him begins again to sin against God."

Okay, thats not mention in the King James version no wonder i never could understand why Noah placed a curse if its truth what the above said then i totally agree why he curse canaan! - i once own a bible handed down to me that had alot of stories that are not mention in regular bibles - the full story of Ruth, and alot of stories when the Jews went to battle, - again not mention in the King James versions.

"And the sons of Ham were Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan"
- Genesis 10:6

Note that the word "Ham" in Hebrew means "hot" or "heated". The word for the color brown , "hume" is closely related.

The name "Cush" is also used to refer to the land of Cush - "Eretz Cush" - usually associated with areas around modern day Ethiopia and Somalia. The word "Cushi" in Hebrew refers to negroes.

From what I can gather at a quick glance, Put's descendants established the areas around Persia.

Canaan's children established themselves in the land of Canaan, known as the land of Israel today.

What happened to the Canaanites? They got tossed out for the most part once the Israelites captured the land of Canaan. Where did they go afterwards? All of the groups in the area went through a tremendous upheaval over the centuries, especially when Sanheriv conquered the area, peoples were dispersed in all directions. I have yet to meet a certified Canaanite, Hittite, Emorite, Prizite, Jebuzite or Girga****e in this day and age. :nope:

Noah was generations after Cain and Abel. I explained why the descendants of Ham are the original black people.

In the flood, everyone except for Noah's family was killed. There are no descendants of Cain. Noah was a descendant of Adam and Eve's 3rd son, Shet/Seth.

If that is a dummy guide you wasted money, if it's real. I remember years ago on a computer course the teacher held them books up and said the best place for them was the bin due too the fact they were complicated in his view.

Its the photoshop version ;)

AL,
Noah, his sons Ham, Shem and Japheth, right. Noah and his family were part of the new begining after the flood as they were the only ones on the earth.
So does this mean we are all part of the 12 tribes of israel :hmm: I might of went right of track there. - Well if we went right back to Noah and his sons all ppl would find their blood line stops there. Meaning we are all linked to Noah, Ham is the father of colored races, and just say Shem is the father of asians and Japheth is the father of everyone else.

But somewhere along the time frame we gave ourselfs different identies, why we have different nationalities:hmm: The Babel story where the people all spoke one language & they decided to build a tower to Heaven, God saw that they were becoming to good at it so went down and changed their language into many different languages so they wouldn't understand each other then spread them all over the whole earth hence today why we all speak differently. I need to read the book can't rember if this happened before the flood or after.

Just trying to figure this out - i mean where did english ppl originate from, or the asians or spanish etc., we all link back to Noah and the 3 sons:hmm: And if we do then this means we are all brothers.

I don't care who is the son of Shep etc. etc. Where is my check? You folks in the UK have really messed things up and need to pay. So when is it coming? All that money will make my miserable life all better:up:

I have never seen crock of crap like this in my life. I do not see how reparations will correct anything. Sure, in some very small instances yes, but this????? What, have these people decided not to work and this is how they want to get paid? Stupid stupid stupid.....this is coming from a guy who would be getting a check if it where to happen:o ...meaning me:arrgh!: but hell, I would not accept just based on principle of this idea. The principle sucks.
