Well with the weekend almost here it's time to talk movies and this weekend I choose the Alien series. I like all the extended and special editions but if I had to choose only one that would have to be ALIEN.

Hope they make another Alien movie, if they go by the story this time round it could be earth is under attack from an infestation of Aliens wiping out us humans (no doubt an alien would of climb aboard that ship without them knowing it, they always do). Then it will be up to Ripley and her grunt marines to save the planet. :yep:

Then a few months after release a game will come out.

I know people are gonna say I'm nuts, but...

When I first saw Alien, I didn't really care for it. I loved Aliens from the start. However, every time I watch Alien I like it more and more, and every time I see Aliens I like it less and less. Or is it just my taste in movies maturing? :-?

Alien the first...Ridley Scott's gothic space horror flick which has spawned so many imitators ever since is still the best. Ressurection was pure unmitigated junk...just Sigourney Weaver cashing her chips in.

Aliens still has it moments, but I don't think as highly of it as I used to.

hehe you forgot that silly romp of a movie Alien vs Predator... (though the games were fantastically scary and well done)
 like the movie for Doom... trashy, but somehow enjoyable, like mills & boon sci-fi-horror lol

I don't think you're nuts, since your original impression is still my impression now :p

I suspect you're right

James Cameron did a good job with Aliens. The only way that movie can be improved is by putting out more footage from it. He might be an absolute sonofab in every other way but he does a good job directing movies.

Alien was good, in much the same way Star Wars 1 was good. George Lucas just wanted to make a movie and Ridley Scott just wanted to make a movie. There was a lot of leeway given to the actors; the script was just a guide to the plot.

Alien 3 wasn't horrible, but it's number three on my list. There were good things in it, and it was very.....raw. More gloomy than suspenseful.

Alien 4 was horrible. I don't even consider it. Who's that one shoplifting druggie skinny chick that was also in Beetlegeuse? She was worthless. The mercenary guy from Riddick -- I generally like his acting. Sigorney, meh. She's done better movies. The entire movie just blows; actors, script, plot, structure, director. The only way the movie could be improved would be to burn the negative and erase all references to it so that someone down the line won't have to deal with "intellectual property" issues when they attempt to make a good movie.
