No, but I've seen it in action. Great fun, as long as your not the won who has to fetch the sunken ships at the end of the day!:yep:
There have been threads just like this posted before. It comes up now and again.
A video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZjiaYk08yE&mode=related&search=)
I would love to try it, but I've got no spending money and they don't have a club around here.

wow, that looks so fun! Think the boats that sink are damaged? What are they shooting exactly?

Now all someone has to do is create a torpedo that would actual blow up with a prox fuse.:rock:

The ships are 1/144 scale with very strict rules about construction.. that more or less boil down to: it must be sinkable.
The hulls are thin balsa wood and it does get dammaged.. but not all that difficult to repair either.
The ships are firing CO2 powered BB cannons.
Usually the builders make some structure on the deck detachable and secured to the ship with a string.. so when it sinks there is a float attached to the ship.
The place where they play this out here is in Chino.. Chino lake/dam .. it is a regular polio pond.. you would NOT want to go swimmin in that water!!!
It is difficult to find places where you are allowed to do this because even the small CO2 BB cannons are considered a "firearm", and most cities and towns have ordinances against discharging a firearm within the city limits.
But it is a lot of fun!

I gotta try this! Do these guys buy them prebuilt or what? Anyone know how much the total cost would be? I would easily drive to Chino to have a go!

I think most of the guys build their own from scratch.. there may be "kits" available though.. check out http://www.rcwarships.com/rcwarships/ for more info.
