I figured this is approrpiate for you since I think you're the only one complaining in your whole country:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
-----Martin Niemöller 1946
I am very, very angry yet again. Why the hell do so many people in the UK let there councils and utility company's walk over them? Another big rise and I for one can not afford to pay it, I am going to join the select few pensioners who also have had it up to here with these pigs who walk over us and don't give a toss about us, enough is enough.
People of England stand up to these thugs it's time for people power.
SUBMAN 1, Too true there are far two many people here who will roll over like a dog and obey there councils demands of higher and higher council tax. Well this dog has got teeth and I am biting back.

Hello Steed!
I thought you were a senior citizen then I checked your profile, and I just wanted to say I admire you a great deal for what you are doing. It takes guts and bravery to stand up for what is right. I am lucky, I live at home with mum and dad so he sorts all that stuff. If you can't afford your rates then you can't afford them. Why the hell should you give up your home just because the council decides we want more money.
The tax and cost of stuff in the UK is crazy it really is, so I for one admire you for digging your heels in. But please be careful because these people want 'their' money and they will do whatever it takes to get it.

What are the odds that Steed actually works for the government?

If the government want more money out of him, he has to be paid enough to meet their demands sufficiently.

I find it very sad what is happening to my country of Birth. But as i have said on many times if the uk had more people like Steed. It would not be in the state it is in now.
If i got posted back now i would rather leave my job than come back.
Im hoping that i will beable to get my family down to Austrailia before my daughter starts school as the thought bring her up in the UK or Europe for that matter is not worth thinking about.
Will the last person left please turn out the light.

Be careful about your choice of school,, tho, mr chris - dependant on what state you move to, the quality of schools and the diference between public and private can be enormous!
