I did it, haha, But nothing too big was in it, But i managed to sneak in pass the half sunk ships and through the mines and subnets. My first contacts were two VW DDs one was moving the other was stationary. Then i moved north to the port. Two tankers, a troop transport, a Fuji Class Cruiser and two medium cargo ships. Then i moved west and noticed a little craft heading towards me, PT boat. Took it out with my deck gun. Then i found an AUX Crusier, easy one shot kill, and a Dido (I think) Cruiser. This all happend at night sooo i was fun. I thought i took awhole bunch of screenshots but i was pushing the wrong buttons, soo im a little pissed about that. Scapa Flow Is too easy, where are some other "easy" harbors to raid?
i see we have another gunter prien wannabe:lol:
now do it on 100% realism:arrgh!:

I was only able to get into Scapa Flow once and it was so long ago, I forget what I sunk. I do remember that one ship I sunk, I didn't get credit for because it was too shallow.
In order to avoid pushing the wrong buttons to take screen shots, I use a program called HypersnapDX and it works great. It requires a folder to put the snaps in and they will stay there untill you delete them. It does a great job for me.

Congratz!
I did Scapa with SHII, that was enough.
I just got back from 2nd patrol with a IX. Will have to resign from the Second Patrol you're Dead Club and see if Warhawk will let me join the Third Patrol You're Dead Club. :arrgh!:

That's an impressive haul!
I've gotten into Scapa more times than I've gotten out, and I'll leave it at that.

Yeah yeah we all probably tried to raid Scapa Flow. :stare:
I found it anti-climatic. Now try to raid Dover or Lock Ewe :hmm:
Last time I was anywhere near Scappa the game was mid `40 I think. I tried to short-cut through the lower channel ... screw that noise now.

Ummm, I think the notion of bringing more than one torpedo is a good one. Sound thinking.
But, uh, yeah, um, a deck gun? You planning a duel?

I went in to scapa 4 times in 1 career and the largest ship there out of all the times was a V&W and the last time i hit a min and started flooding and had to surface so the DDs made short work of me.

Its better if u go to scapa early in the war so u can get the Big Boys there. I got the Hood on my 3-4 patrol to scapa.

Anytime I hit SF, the biggest ship I see is a AuxCA and a Troopship.

sure, i do all sorts of stupid things. might as well try dueling with a BB. from what i've read here, most likely i'll find just some merchant shipping in port. in which case...
i've just upgraded to a sub with deck guns, my first deck gun... :arrgh!: evil laffz

on the way back from my first patrol i enter Scapa Flow through the western passage and see to wonder the Hood and a Revenge class ship and this is in GXW just to let u know and the year is 1939
sink the hood with two torpedoes unfortunely the Revenge was a different story
and emtmedic005 were u on the surface when u did all of that or submerged

I sank most of those ships submerged. I surfaced to get some external torps and i noticed a small ship comming towards me, the PT Boat, i took that out withmy Deck Gun.

I went in beginning of Oct 39 and there was a Revenge Battleship and an aux crusier
Revenge Battleships are tough!!! took 6 shots to go down. I made it out with 85% hull
and a destroyed propeller shaft, Flak gun, and attack periscope.

So Revenge BBs pop up in SC in Oct 39? Better take a look.

Ya the Hood and Revenge BBs are in SCFW in Oct 39 after my other career patrol. also, u cant use ur homin torps Z2, cuz it needs noise for homin on target.

Anyone taking up Danurve's challenge of raiding Dover needs to be careful.
The eastern end of Dover harbour has a bottom like an upside down spoon!
Go too near the middle and you will run aground and your conning tower will broach the surface.
Strangly enough after finding this out the Kaleun in question along with all hands aboard found themselves somewhat dead.
Be warned.
