...little wooden panel on the top of the screen?

I'm using GWX 1.02 and Sober's waves, no other addons.

That thing is really annoying since its only function seems to be to "hold" the damage control panel in the crew screen, but I even see it when looking through the periscope or while standing on the bridge...

I'd rather get rid off it altogether.

Isn't that the stop watch?

It's a draggable chronometer.
Check this thread out:

and this (removing it):

I thought it was a stupid wooden thing as well....how do I use it? Do I just drag it down or double click? Cos I was hoping it was something like that at first and tried dragging and double clicking...didn't seem to do anything. I also read ALL the GWX manual exept for the ship types part and I couldn't find mention..maybe I missed it.

By the way ParaB, what does Sober's wave mod do?

Einbaum, the mod adds a greenish tint to the white foam on the waves. You can see the effect on the pic I posted, right next to the crewman. I like the effect.

Ah. thanks ParaB. I was hoping that was the effect of the mod, because I noticed that in your pic...very nice. I'll be adding that myself...thanks again. :up:

:hmm: Is there a way to move the draggable chronometer from the top left to the center right of the screen? The way it loads, puts it on top of the dragable data sheets. Seeing there is nothing that drags out from the right side center, might make a better placement for it.

Every time I load SHIII and go to the Nav Map I drag it off to the right side. Maybe I'm the only one that does this...... Anyone else?

Go to jonz chronometer section of the menu1064_768.ini file and raise it a bit.

Hi macstu23,
open your menu_1024_768.ini in ...\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu and look for this
block:
[G3F Ixxx]
Name=Dial
Type=1031;Stat bmp array
ItemID=0x3FF00000
ParentID=0x3F000000
Pos=80,1017,214,248; original=990
Materials=1
Display=0;No stretch
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/Chronometer.tga
Crop 0=0,0.03125,0.8359375,0.96875
MatFlags=0x29
TexFmt=0x9
Drag=true
BmpState=1
NeedFocus=true
SelOne=true
IdGroup=0
StatesColors=0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF
I increased the orange value from original 990 to 1017, so the wooden clock is
invisible but nevertheless it's possible to drag it down if needed. Maybe the value of
1017 doesn't work for you [clock not draggable anymore] because I use a different
texture than in GW --> so you have to fiddle around with that value by decreasing
or increasing it [try & error].
Give it a try - it's not difficult

The above is the quote from Squaretsteelbar

You cannot control this chronometer per-se, it is simply a copy of the chronometer you start when in periscope or UZO mode. It allows you to flip screens while keeping track of your 'time to impact"..

In NYGM mod I am used to have it on the right side, so I do the same when I load GWX, so that makes 2 of us...:D I have to put it close to the nav map icons as I have my big slideout compass from 6 dials mod in the middle of the right side...

Guys, guys, draggable ;)

I always put it in the upper right corner, there's only a millimeter of it showing now.

That's the quickest and easiest fix :yep: :arrgh!:

Yeah, I just drag it out of the way. I was thinking of putting a picture of my family on it instead of a stop watch. Then I can look at it when I'm being DC'd to the bottom.:oops:

Yeah, I just drag it out of the way.
