During a previous patrol I sank 3 ships from a convoy one of which i identified as a lake ship. Couldn't see a flag but figured if it was in convoy at night with no lights it was fair game. When I went to commander after patrol to see the history I noticed the ship was listed as sunk and lake type but had no name unlike the others. Just wondered if commander records the actual type of ship sank or does it take your identification as gospel? Also does sinking neutral ships in convoy affect renown? Or are there any neutral ships that sail in GWX convoys?

Do you have GWX cfg files for SH3commander ?
The lake ship should be named with those files

If not get it below my sig

There are neutral ships in convoys
None of them will have lights on
Yes you will lose renown

In RL neutral shipping did sail in convoys unlit and was frequently sunk
The game doesnt recognise its part of a convoy so you still get the renown hit

Yeah I have the cfg files. Just wondered if because i identified it as being a lake ship that affected the record. I mean if i see a medium merchant, identify it as a tramp steamer and sink it what will commander log it as?

Commander will log it as the game sees it
Not how you define it

Odd that it didnt name it

KCA=GenericMerchantsAndTankers
TugBoat=GenericMerchantsAndTankers
LTgBoat=GenericMerchantsAndTankers
KLAKE=GenericMerchantsAndTankers

From the Ship names.cfg in commander

If you go to

C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander\Cfg and lok in the Ship names cfg it should be in there if the GWX cfg files were added ok
