I have just installed the new patch for gwx and I now have problems. I firstly rolled back with commander v2.7 and removed all mods before installing the patch. I am in the middle of a great career, being early summer 41. I intercepted the task force heading for Bismarck and sank Illustrious carrier. Then I installed the patch. Now as I load my saved game it ctd with notice saying windows encountered problem etc. Its a bit frustrating so any help to fix this would be great. I started a new career just to see if it loads and no problems, only with saved games previous to patch

Ok thanks for any help you kind people.

The patch need to be installed while IN PORT

Installation

Before installing:

- DISABLE all activated modifications if you use the "Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler" (JSGME). You cannot use JSGME to install GWX Patch 1.02, but you can use JSGME to activate other modifications after GWX Patch 1.02 is installed.

- REMOVE any installed SH3 Commander files (if you use "SH3 Commander") by pressing the "Rollback SH3" button from within SH3 Commander.

- ENSURE your active careers are all safely docked in port!

It is important that you follow these steps as the installer will look for SH3 Commander and JSGME files and will halt if any are found. Likewise the installer will halt if it does not find certain key GWX files.

Your career wont load as too many campaign changes
If you have a second GWX install you can finish the patrol in that
As long as the install is the same as your previous one - mods wise

Other than that you will have to start a new career

No problem
Shame to lose a good career though

If you saved your career files, reload them and try just backing up to the save "in port".
I know you'll lose your illustrious tonnage, but you can at least possibly continue your career.
I had this issue after patching myself, (June '41), and I'm now 2 saves beyond patching with no apparent problems.

:damn: Thanx Lightning
Yes you can indeed try a load in port
You will lose the current patrol
