Well why the hell did you only watch parts  ?

The sub needed repainting in port, but because of shortages they were only able to scrounge up red and white paint. They just mixed it and painted the sub.

Great movie by the way, I recommend it to everyone who looks forward to patrolling the Pacific.

Yes they could only get enough redlead primer to do half the job. The chief boatswain mate was told to mix it with the white primer. After doing so he complained about the god awful color but was cut short and told to just get it done. The look of shock on the officers face that snapped at the chief is priceless when he gets his first view of the boat after the chief finishes. Then a series of incidents keep occurring to keep them from covering the primer with paint.

I thought they bought the paint from an old lady who lives in a light house. And it was the only paint they could find so they had to use it.

No, I just rewatched the part.

Lt Holden bargains for the paint in the casino, he can get enough grey, but not enough read lead. But the guy offers him some white as well, so he takes it.

The paint cans are olive drab government issue tins.

Well, it a very long time ago for me to watch the movie. Perpaps the light house was in an episode in the tvserie.

Yea I love Operation Petticoat.
Cary Grant made another submarine movie actually during the war entitled Destination Tokyo, it is a serious movie and really good, their mission is to infiltrate Tokyo bay, and I believe it is a Balao class submarine that he commands

If it's from the US Amazon, it's most likely Region 1 DVD. Can you play it?

Not trying to be negative; I just don't want you to get burned.

My favourite quote from the movie is:

"Below the age of 18, a girl is protected by law. Over the age of 60, she is protected by nature. Anywhere in-between she is 'fair-game'"

(or something very close to this)

There is only one real question here. How soon will a pink 're-skin' for SHIV be available?:D

It would be awesome to go around as a pink submarine. Wouldnt it be cool if one of the special missions was a storyline along operation petticoat where you have to take your sub to the dry docks, pick up nurses paint it then return home safely with women and children? doubt it will be on the game but just a thought.
