Any website out there that has a long list of historical news articles from american press about how WW2 with the japanese was going? I'd love to read that in between missions to get more into the role/atmosphere, and to learn more about the american perspective.

The idea is that when you get back from a war patrol, you get your newspaper of choice and read it while getting resupplied etc, to keep up with what sailors/public really read at the time, and the happenings of the war (purely from an american perspective). If you can print it, it might be good catching up on the papers while crossing that big ocean on 4096x.

NewspaperARCHIVE.com. It provides access to a searchable database of thousands of American newspaper stories (Checked it out, has tons of scanned papers from during the war, although a bit tricky to search in it. Try searching advanced for "Japan" and then specify a year).
