I transfered to the Med in my big sexy IX/D2 and on my third patrol MARCH 1943 I avoided a destroyer for a good two hours got the all clear so I decided to surface and the time I got to the surface half my crew were dead. Yes you heard me right, two thirds of my petty officers and a third of my regular crew were dead and the rest of my crew were crapping themselves. So what the heck killed them?

By chance did your rats have Fleas they shared with the crew?

Is there a crew member named Jason,, or Hannible Lecter among your crew?
cant have been if hes only been submerged for 2 hours
it takes 25-30 hours ingame for oxygen level to be almost flat
No not the Co2 and no not Bernard.
My crew do not have fleas or crabs.

I've had this about 3 times now. The CE keeps reporting tower damaged. When this happens I have to hit the escape key asap on surfacing or I'll lose the entire crew. Even with a fast esc I lose about half the crew. I've always been in deep water in the middle of the ocean. Go figure. :down:

No mines,aircraft,ships or any other subs in the area and no damage on surfacing.

Only with the IXD2
The tower takes damage - but doesnt show as destroyed
When you surface they die as they go on watch
I try to whack someone on the deck or flak as quick as I can
Officers die but stay there and that sometimes stops the crew
The rest of the crew are like lemmings and run topside to die

Just one problem no damage to the tower and the crew were dying as I was coming up to the surface.

Gotta concur with BBW on this...we've both had similar experiences :yep: it's always the IXD2, but the conning tower is usually damaged or destroyed :yep:
Sadly I gotta stay away from my beloved IXD2 till a solution comes around :damn:

VIIB's the only way to go baby! Sure, you get greater range and more torps with the IXD's but at least my men don't Randomly DIE!!!!:nope::nope:

Perhaps they died by a leaking in the battery cells and saltz water, it makes clorine, this poisonous gas is lethal in a dived boat.

There must be a rational explanation. I will crack open my DVD collection of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea and see if I can discover one.
Right now, my bet is on a WWI U-Boat skipper coming back as a ghost and taking over the body of your Exec, and then killing the crew. (The great episode I'm referring to is "The Phantom Strikes").

Your crew commited mass suicide after having to endure the stench of Fressen's feet for more than two hours in a row :p

Just a thought, do you have sabotage turned on. The above comment about the battery sounded good.
Of course there is another thought that someone mentioned in another thread. you said your sub had no Fleas or rats, how about Cockroaches:eek:. It was stated that 1 sub had over 6 Million. I've heard that some types have been known to kill:hmm: Just another thought.

I too had this happen to me twice also in a IXD2 clear skies,no shipping or aircraft nearby,no mines no nothing surface and get a message were takeing damage then people start dying for no apperent reason.
