First i like to say hello to all fellow Kaleuns!
And then the problem:
How do you save your game after completing the patrol and when you are in your "office"? Where is the little button to push, or menu to exlpore?
Have lost couple of careers with wrong-time pushed esc-button.

As soon as you have returned to the 'office' after your patrol the game is automatically saved.
The arrow in the bottom left of the screen wil take you back to the main menu.
You can exit to the menu and return to find a save location of 'In base before/after patrol'.
Welcome aboard matey.

It still seems that there is a little problem:
For example, when i have been lucky and got promoted to next rank, it seems to be right in office screen. But when i press the arrow to return to main menu, my rank is same that before patrol. Also, couple of times last save is not named in base after mission, but War has ended, or dead or something else..
What's wrong with game?
Using 1.4b with GWX

might be best to get sh3 commander 2.7 you launch the game from this instead and may solve your problem

Your new rank has been 'given' to you after the game automatically saved. Complete another patrol and it will be correct.
As for your save bug, many things can affect this. Ironic as it is, follow these rules....
Do not save submerged:88),
Do not save within 50km of harbour traffic,
Do not save while under attack from the enemy,
Do not save within visual range of the enemy.
In short only save when you are in the middle of nowhere and alone.:rotfl:
This is the worst case scenario, many people will not/do not experience these issues however, it better to be safe than sorry.
