Will there be gooney birds on Midway? It's all about gooney birds on Midway. Immersion is important in a subsim. We should have gooney birds on Midway. Will there be gooney birds on Midway in SH4? If I don't get to see gooney birds on Midway I might cry. I don't want to cry. Gooney birds are the tops in my book. I hope there are gooney birds. :yep:

There may very well be a gooney bird doll included in the Super, Duper, Far Western Pacific Edition, but that has not yet been confirmed by the developers. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No, no! Will the Narwhal-class be in this game? It's absolutely critical that the Narwhal be included in this game. If the Narwhal boats aren't in SHIV, it would a gross distortion of history and an evil plot by the developers to subvert the achievements of our submarine force. The Narwhals are absolutely important for immersion and if they don't include them I'll have a crying hissy fit. In fact, I hope they get rid of the other subs and just leave in the Narwhals.

Seriously, that guy on the UBI forum is really getting on my nerves.

It was my understanding that the Laysan Albatross (aka Gooney Bird) abandoned Midway during the war, and only returned years later. Having said that, I can't find anything online to verify it.

I was at Midway briefly in 1970, and they are indeed the most beautiful of all birds in flight, but the silliest and clumsiest on the ground.

Steve,

Is that the bird that trips when he comes in for a landing?

And sticks his head up to see what the noise is when another one is taking off, thus causing the airborne one to hit him and both to go tumbling.

And catches a wingtip on takeoff and goes tumbling.

They really are funny to watch. I've read that their biggest problem is they don't get out of the way of anything: planes, cars, people, each other; it just doesn't happen.
