Man, this guy has more luck than sense.
Skydiver releases video of near-death plummet to Earth (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article1378368.ece)

This is so funny!
Recalling the final moments before he hit the earth, he said: “You see the ground rushing up and it’s just an imminent impact...I tried to think of something, the right thing to say for the camera. But I looked at the ground again and without thinking I just blurted out: ‘Oh s***, I’m dead...bye.’

one word: Lucky

If his chute didn't deploy at all, he would just be a small creater in the ground. I'd buy this guy a drink any day.

P.S. Did you see the pics of him? He dosen't have a scratch or sprain! Amazing!

This clip is amazing-who would've thought a hedge would save your life after a free fall from an airplane!

Wow, talk abot luck indeed. I was hoping to see the video footage but looks like YouTube's already pulled it due to a copyright claim.

If I were that guy, I'd be buying lottery tickets on a regular basis.

where I live the local Skydiving instructor with over 10k jumps once survived
double shoot failure, no kidding. He was doing a demonstration somewhere
up in nova scotia or new brunswick and had both chutes fail, he landed
upright in the standing position chest deep in a bog. No Kaa kaa !

He still jumps but now wears a permanent surprised look.

If you search for his name, plus the keyword "Skydiver" you may be able to find it on Google and even YouTube.

Google is exactly where i found it, at least excerpts in a news story. Thanks!

ASW is right, he's alive because his main chute, although not fully deployed, did slow his decent considerably. Hard to tell from the video but it looks like his reserve may have caught some air as well.

The clip was shown on the news here, with him at the end walking with a bandaged leg with the help of a crutch or cane.

Punctured lung and a broken angle.

Did anyone see the other bit which was the film from his jump buddy's helmet camera?

You just see him going in and then his buddy landing, running up to him and asking "you OK bro, you ok, and the guy answering, "No"....funny considering the circumstance.
