Did anybody here pre-order directly through Ubi?

I saw the "Pre-Order" post above, but there doesn't seem to be a way for me to actually pre-order. I noticed I am able to pre-order through the Ubi site though.

I must admit though I am sort of leary about pre-ordering anything from Ubisoft. Last time I did, all the stores in my area got my item a few days before my pre-order even shipped. I ended up canceling my pre-orde and just going down to the store and picking up my product. However, there are other times where people seem to get their items a few days before the stores do.

Any help here guys/gals would be appreciated!

I will wait until our link is good. That way Neal gets a kickback, which is good for the site.

Don't worry. It's just a matter of time. Eventually everyone will be able to pre-order thru the Subsim link. :yep:

Patience is a virtue. :know:

Just a heads up. I saw Newegg had it listed as a pre-order on their site.

I pre-ordered a game from them a couple weeks ago, and as usual, they shipped it the day it arrived - 3 days shipping. I think it's listed as $46.99 and about $5 shipping.

Man that's fast ... how far do you live from the store?

I ordered a new Antec 900 case on a Wed, but they didn't ship it till thursday and I got it on friday ...
like wow that was fast enough for me.

But this is not subsim shipping you anything ...
it's Amazon and they are quick too. Order it here and feed the crew ...

I live in the hills of southern Missouri and they shipped it from California. They always arrive from Newegg in exactly 3 days from ship date. Ship date is generally the day after I order, or the same afternoon if I put the order in early that morning.

I wasn't sure if Subsim got a referral bonus of some kind from Amazon. I've heard a few bad stories of preordering from Amazon, but I imagine they're not all that bad.

You could always pre-order through your local GameStop or whatever game store you use, get it on release day and then donate to SubSim to offset the fact you didn't buy it through Amazon. That's my plan anyways :smug:

Of course this is only available to North American editions, but here is what is on the DVD. In case it hasn't been posted before.

'Featured on this DVD are five rare U.S. Navy films including a rare FULL COLOR film made in the WWII era showcasing the capabilities that led to America’s triumph in the Pacific war. Watch a rare, silent newsreel of the recovery of the USS Squalus and its crew after a diving accident. See recruits train for action in the pre-war silent service, and watch rare color WWII combat footage as U.S. fleet boats enter Japanese home waters, operating with impunity and sinking everything in sight. Also featured is a film showing the capture of the Nazi U-505 at sea. The DVD concludes with a showcase of post-war developments including the launch of the nuclear USS Nautilus.'

Nice addition that video. The Europeans will get a sountrack CD instead, and the lucky Australians get a pen in place of the latter two.

I really hope Amazon gets something for Canada. If it doesn't happen by March 1st, I'll pre-order elsewhere and try to just get another donation to Subsim instead :hmm:

I'm hoping to go this route too. Amazon.ca seems to be a crapshoot with respect to software, at least this has been my experience for niche titles. And as much as Canada Customs are a joy to deal with, Amazon.com won't ship software across the border.

Hmm, I'm tempted to pre-order from Newegg.

Everything I order 3-Day from them I get on the 2nd day. Always.

A benefit of living in central California (bringing the total tally up to 1).

Oh crap!:o

You just killed my warm fuzzy smug feeling.

Since I am a stat freak I will probably have to go find some pre-order nightmare info to post so I can feel better. ;)
