ending patrol

how do you all end patrol? after i get tired or run out of ammo i just hit exit and end patrol, is it different in gwx do you have to go to ports?

Dude - you gotta get back home - that's half the challenge! First of all, it forces yo uto manage your fuel. Second, most of my deaths are via air attack, and quite often on the return trip across Biscay. Anyways, the warp-exit should be disabled so you're not tempted.

You must be close enough to port so that when you hit "escape" and "end mission", it gives you the option "dock at ---". I believe the max distance is 25km, but someone else will quickly correct me.

Just like in real life, you return to your base and enjoy the cheering, the adulation of the warf rats and the music of the band. Then you hit escape, chose exit patrol, and dock at XXX

There are a few cheats, but no self-respecting seaman will go for those :smug:

Ending a patrol in GWX is exactly the same as in stock, either "Return to Base" (don't get the 100 renown for returning to base) or as people have said above, "Dock at xxx" (Get the 100 renown). At 100% realism the warp back to base is disabled (not sure if this is new to GWX or works that way in stock as well).

It's not disabled, if I'm not mistaken. Using it ends one's career. :)

It's not disabled, if I'm not mistaken. Using it ends one's career. :)

The coming back to port with the band and girls throwing flowers is a great thing - really makes you feel like you've accomplished something just by surviving one more patrol.

Sigh. Good old Wilhelmshaven. I know this girl there . . .

LOL Close cousins AVG. I've seen both in my travels in those 18 wheelers, tho I was smart enough not to get close. Fine observed at a distance but up close is not recommended unless you wear a full body condom. ;)
