186 right now, is this a record? We must be getting close to sailing. Is it time to hoist the Blue Peter?

Just imagine the bandwith usage once SH4 actually hits the market! We'd better all send a little donation Neal's way so he doesn't lose his house!

Okay, hold on a sec here: this Wild Night in Bangkok avatar I'm currently sporting is just cruel and unusual punishment! :stare:

Simple solution. Buy the 2007 Submarine Almanac here (http://www.subsim.com/almanac/)to support Subsim.

Let's see if we can beat the "most skippers ever in port" record.

It will be difficult to beat the release of GWX, that is the previous record, I believe.

I have a feeling SH4 is going to shatter the old record. But hey, we'll find out soon enough.

All we got to do is be friendlyier (how do you spell that Sailor Steve)(he always does my spelling for me) to each other.

Welcome them aboard and make em feel at home till they make their first mistake and then Gizz will get em.

Point out the FAQ folder for them ... let em know general topics is subsims crapper ... just kidding on that one ...

Were a crew, poke fun, but don't slur, be nice, but don't kiss butt, be humble when your wrong and if you don't like
us or SH 1, #2, #3 and soon to be #4 ... boogie on down the road ...

I'm going on war patrol soon and very soon.

I bet they put subsim.com inside or maybe even on the outside of the box of SH4 and all of us together can make it a better
experience for the newbies that are still yet to come

Since you insist:
All we got to do
All we have to do (or all we've got to do...)

is be friendylier.
Friendlier ("more friendly" is better).

make em feel at home
Either them or 'em. "em" is cute and usually accepted for the internet, just like "u", "ur", "b4" etc. Personally I hate all of those.

till
This is an odd one. Normally "until" is preferred, but I've been reading some old (1920s) novels, and they use "till" a lot.

Were a crew...
We're. It's short for "we are". Apostrophes are funny: they're used for contractions (as shown) and possesions ("geetrue's post), but never, ever for plurals ("I saw two u-boats" {NOT u-boat's}; he owns five Ferraris {NOT Ferrari's}). A lot of people get those backwards, using them for plurals but not possessives.

Well you asked!:rotfl:

Maybe I should start a thread on proper English usage.

Oh yeah: I notice that a large majority of the "Captains In Port" are lurkers, so the number of names is not nearly so high as the number listed. Come on, you stowaways, let's see some posts! Who are you all?

You the man, Steve! See, I didn't slang it, but I like to talk like I spell, so it comes out that way sometimes. Besides I owe you one on that one word I mis-spelled and no one else ever caught. :yep:

P.S. Doesn't your signature have a word mis-spelled? Is I'd a word or should it be I would ...

It's a legitimate contraction for "I would".

I believe you mean possessions.
Actually I meant "possessives"; but you're right, I misspelled it.

FYI, my name is Dragan Jovanov. As for the alias, I couldn't think anything more stupid than that, so it's unique for me.. Google GakunGak and EVERY result is just me!

You could market a name like that, maybe name a beer after you or something and then when people google to see what it is ... there you are the only one listed.
