View Full Version : Blasted French
What the heck is going on here three time patrolling around W/SW of Spain and I have seen French ships with lights on and no lights all neutral. Well as far as I am concerned no lights means there gun running for the Allies and I will send them to the bottom, if they want me to back off put your blasted ship lights on. :arrgh!:

You would think theyd scuttle like the rest
just use a searchlight to sink em.

Or the deck gun.
As I said no lights down they go. :shifty:
I've seen small German convoys off the coast of Spain--no lights. So be careful.

If it bleeds you can kill it.
if it sails you can sink it.
if theyre neutral Bernard was on watch
Bdu will understand...........

I would never sink our ships. :yep:

I ran across an American without lights. I was glad that I checked first!!! At least I didn't have to go home and explain again, like the time I sunk an ore carrier and found out as it was sinking it was German!!:dead:

As a frenchman myself, I strongly object to your thread: "Blasted French".
As I adjust my beret and untuck my baguette from under my arm, I am miming kicking your a**!
Seriously though, I am French, and a little tear ran down my cheek the other day when i was forced to use my deck gun on one of those intransigent "free French".

I have declared war on the stinking French, I was in very rough water with rain and fog and by accident this French ship came out of no where which bumped into me, you know what happen next? The bitch open fire on me!!! Inflicting damage and killed my watch officer. Well that's it, I don't care if they got lights on now I shall send all of them to the bottom. :arrgh!:
Darn French they are as bad as sailing as the Italians.

Wouldn't YOU get a bit mad if you were rammed by... say... Dutch Sub? :rotfl: Wouldn't you mann the gun? :yep:

He bumped into me. When I saw him I went into Emergency reverse. :yep:
I've bumped into a British ship in the past and they did not fire at me strait away. Trigger happy French just like the Russians in the black sea.
The French plug their holes with bagettes, that's why they're so difficult to sink. Steed, watch your soap box, the French been known to use bagette torpedoes at Speakers Corner. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yep better lay low for a while. :shifty:
My insurances does not cover hospital treatment for being hit on the head by a baguette.

You'd be a little trigger-happy as well if your ship was ladden with 16000 bottles of 1984 Chateauneuf du Pape as well as 500lbs of the finest Brie and Camembert...mmmm...Brie...

I'd rather go for the camembert (waiting at least a week in the open, not in the fridge !!) with a Pomerol or St Emilion...:D
I like a cheese board that includes brie and camembert :smug: . Haven't had a pomerol in ages .
Welcome to the blasted French food thread. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
French stick and brie with a nice bottle of wine anyone?

Back when I was playing SC I had the notion for a TC
where France would be the primary enemy.
I thought everyone would love it.
at the time of freedom fries it would
have sold itself.

Now it's my turn - first patrol ever in GWX, IXC, Jan 1941, biscay, bf81, i make a midnight ship sighting. Large merchant, close with it. Perfectly still water, line up the perfect T2 keel shot. Bam- perfect hit, between the bow and the midship. Then I notice the flag....French. I noobed out on this one - i'm so used to using the external camera to check the flags, that now that I disabled it, I didnt' even bother. Man....harsh. Now I'm surfaced and I'm hoping that she doesn't sink...but such a good hit..her bow is getting low....looks like I'll be starting this career with a neutral French sinking!!

Next time try high-tailing it out of there before she sinks, that way you won't get "credited" with the sinking.
Step 2, deny ever having been in the area.
Step 3, find a nice quiet place in the middle of the Atlantic, and scuttle your ship in shame...Noone will ever know what truly happened...

Look at it like this, it's pay back to the French resistance. ;)

So i took High Voltage's advice and bailed on the scene at flank. Luckily I made no contact report, and I she was a slow sinker. I made my escape without the penalty:) Guess she must have strayed into a minefield...
