I completely uninstalled/reinstalled the retail dvd version of SHIII. I have the patch for v1.4b retail dvd, but whenever I run the patch it does a "check" and then says it will update my v1.0 to v1.3, instead of v1.4b. Can anyone shed some light on why the 1.4b patch is only patching to v1.3?
I have retried it hoping it would "check" and update from v1.3 to v 1.4b but all it will update to is v1.3.
The 1.4b patch only patching to v1.3 is a typo error on Ubi's part. And to use the mods and Super mods like NYGM, RUB, and GWX you must have 1.4b installed. ;)

Does that mean that it is patched to v1.4b even though it says v1.3, and is there a way to verify that it is in fact patched to v1.4b?
edit: I intend to install GWX, so, will it install "only" over SH3 v1.4b? If so, that will confirm that v1.4b has been installed. Sure would have been nice if Ubi had made a version number available on the main menu.
Yes, even though it says v1.3 it is patched to 1.4b when installing 1.4b. ;) The only verification I know of is when you get it in and try to play GWX. If it's not 1.4b, you will be told so by SHIII and GWX. ;) But trust me, 1.4b is installed . :yep:

Before you install any of the "super-mods", once you install the v1.4b patch onto your SHIII sim, as the sim loads up, keep an eye on the lower right hand corner of the screen. When you get to the main menu, you should see the version indicated there - v1.4
