View Full Version : transit to patrol zone
didnt see it in the review how will the transit to the patrol zone be modelled will we have to sail all the way there or will we be sent there automatically, i hated leaving port in sh3 cause you couldnt compress time when in the shallow water near the coast

I havent heard how sh4 will handle things, I think it will be the same.
There is a file you can edit or you can use Sh3Commander to adjust the time compression near land, so its easily solvable.
I hope the devs make these things adjustable in the config menu, but I doubt it due to the "accellerated dev cycle".

The TC near land used to bother me but if SH4 is like the revived SH3/GWX I will be motoring out at 1X so to enjoy the view. I also put music in the gramaphone that I enjoy. Crank that up and throw bread to seagulls. I kick back and take a leisurely cruise out of port. I'm venturing to guess that port in SH4 will be nice and leaving at 1x will not be an issue. But in all reality to your question, it will probably be handled like SH3.
so u think leaving port will be easier than in sh3, like not having so many twist and turns making it harder to leave? that was very frusterating for me
Enjoy the palm trees swaying in the tropical breeze, because once you leave port you'll have a whole lotta blue until you reach your patrol zone.

Probably much the same as SH3. But, I just lay my course on the map and sit in the conning tower as I exit the port. Agreed though that some ports are bear to get out of in SH3.;)

Leaving select ports in SH3 was a little time consuming when you were unable to speed up the TC. Although a little frustrating, it wasn't a deal breaker. I'd just plot my course out to sea and go downstairs to make a coffee or take the dog for a quick walk. :)
