View Full Version : Unable to Transfer to New Flotilla's
As I'm even just an average patrol away for being able to get a type IX boot (1940), my last time in port I picked up the phone and the 2nd Flotilla showed up. I put in for a transfer and was accepted immediately. I went to check on what else was available on the u-boot menu, then went on my mission. As the loading finishes I get a pop up that said something to the effect of the 2nd Flotilla has been absorbed into the 1st. When I first looked at the U-Boot menu the type IX was available (just needed 400 renown to get it); then after the mission I go back and shows that I'm still in the first flotilla and no type IX's were available. :down:
Is there a way to change this in the career or patrol files so that either the transfer options show correctly or just change it manually in the patrol or career files? Currently only transfer option is the 7th, which has been there from the start.

Hi and welcome to Subsim
What game are you playing ? Stock SH3 ?
Hi mate! Welcome to Subsim!!:up::up::up:
Strange. :hmm: but we do need more info. :yep:
Welcome on board. :up:
The version I'm currently playing is DvD English (Retail) version with no patches installed (though in reading what is contained within patch 1.4b it looks like this disk already has that compiled into the game), and no mods at the moment.

No idea as far as I know in stock if you sink enough ships pick the phone up and your transfered straight away, with your crew & boat if you don't have enough renown to get an IX boat do 1 or 2 patrols in your present boat and am sure you will get her,but it's been a while since I played the stock game sorry.

IIRC its 3 patrols and 6 months in current flotilla before you can apply for transfer again - even in stock

Something apparently happened after I exited the game after returning to port when I looked for the transfer. I was really tired at the time. Ran into a large conoy and blew up their escort with a single lucky torpedo hit under its bow. I sunk almost the whole conoy so only ended up with 51,000 tons (even exhausted the deck gun ammo).
Luckily I'd saved the game right before docking so reloaded that saved game, handed out the fistfull of medals to the crew and was successfully able to make the transfer. When I played again the following day I didn't get the message and am currently in the 2nd Flotilla with my type IXB. There's a bug in there somewhere, I get an abnormal amount of incidents where the game crashes while doing trivial things like increasing or decreasing the time compression.

Hi mate!
This could have something to do with saving while in port....I know that the German DD's have a tendency to run aground if you do this..Im not sure if this also affects other things than just the DD's, but im sure someone will give you a more detailed answer, matey!

I'm not sure why this happen but there are two known stock SH3 bugs:
1. Some times you don't get credit for kills, but thankfully this is not too often.
2. If you save near ships, while sumberged and 50Km or closer to your base then all sort of strange things can happen.

The ships lose their scripted waypoints and continue on in a straightish course with the inevitable consequence of either colliding with something or running aground :arrgh!:
Whatever the root of the problem is, it looks like its patched when I downloaded and installed all the updates. The game became extremely unstable (prior to updating), save points that were in the oceans were corrupted, and every 2 seconds I got a message from bDu that the destination has changed to: Kiel, St. Nazarene, Lorient, La Rochelle, and Willshaven. Also after I bought my type IX I had 600 renown to spare; once I set out on patrol I had 8100 or so. Somehow I got refunded the price of the submarine; which could partially explain why the decorations came way too fast. Rather than try and deal with all the problems with just getting the game up to play I nuked the character and started over fresh with all the patches this time.
