No Sunshine??

I just got the game. Everything is great but outside I notice that no matter what time of day it is there is no sunshine or clouds. At night there are stars and also no matter wheather night or day there is this large ok huge round section of sky that is just plain white and it sits on the horizon. Any clues?

I have no mods and no game patches installed

Update your video card driver. By the way, just FYI, if you wanna play SH4 you need a new card. SH4 requires Pixel Shader 2, yours only has 1.4.

i didnt even know there was a 4. I used to play SS 2 and saw three and wanted to try it. I had already tried to update my drivers some time ago just for general upkeep but I havent seen any new ones of late. guess its dark skies at noon for me. thanks mates

I have a Radeon 9250 with 128mb and the game plays fine for me
mine are version 6.14.10.0311 if that means anything to ya
Which I believe were straight of the ATI site

Thank you all for your suggestions and help, I really appreciate it. Because I have not done it yet I downloaded the game patch from the makers web site. Duh!! I now have blue skies, sunshine, birds and everything else a normal day might bring. Every so often a small black patch appears but I can deal with that as long as I know when I am exposed in daylight and when I am not. I also saw my driver version as 6.14.10.0310.

Yeah, I get those black triangles too, it's an ATI issue I think.
