Feb 2 I got a call this afternoon from an Amazon manager, they received my e-mail and have activated the pre-order! He said the contents in the box will be the same as Ubisoft.

Also, you can order from , for example, Sendit.com, like I did. I live in Poland and want the Enbglish language version as well, mainly because I do not want to wait weeks/months for Polish patches to come. I'm almost 100 percent sure they send to Denmark. If they send to Poland - they send everywhere (almost).;)

You order from UK site. There is probably no difference between US and UK version except that the UK version might contain German and french language files as well (and therefore need different patches like with SH3)

Well, I just got off the phone with a game distributor. They buy games in big lots from publishers at a big discount and then try to sell smaller parcels to guys like Subsim, Gamespot, etc at less discount. I told him I would be interested in buying a lot of SH4 and sell to you guys, especially guys in Canada and overseas who cannot get the game bonus materials, or whatever it is that Ubi has been hinting at. I told him that most of the people who visit Subsim probably have already preordered the game through Ubi or some other website, so I don't think Subsim will be able to sell many copies, but I was still interested, under two conditions.

1. I have to know with a high degree of confidence when the game will be shipped to Subsim, so I can give a date to people who buy it.

2. I need to have a guarantee with regards to the "bonus materials" and "Collector's Edition" variety. I doubt they can get this info, since Ubi has not told anyone what the heck they are doing. I do not want 100 people to buy the game from Subsim and end up mad about missing a $1 map or some geegaw. Ubi was pretty smart to stir this up.

Anyway, I'm still going to rely on Amazon, when they finally are able to turn on their preorder again. But I would be interested in your thoughts….

If someone is going to Pre-order, then I would think that he or she would want to get the Collector's Edition and everything that would normally come with it, no matter where they get it from and obviously we don't want to get the game after everybody else, which is what it sounds like, if we get it directly from you.

thanks, but I have not gotten an anser from Amazon, because he says his buyer is waiting for an answer from Ubi. I'm sure Ubi is hoping to sell a lion's share from their store, and I do not blame them, they get a much bigger cut that way. I'm advising folks to order where they feel most comfortable, do not take a chance and not get what you want. If a guy orders from Ubi and gets what he wants, good.

Once the game comes out and Amazon and Ubi are equal, I will clean off all the Ubi links in the forum and direct new buyers to the Subsim/Amazon store. That will work out ok for me, I think.

Well I got an E-Mail from UBI inviting me to be one of the first to buy the "Deluxe" Edition in the Tin can with Recce Manual/Maps/medals, plus an extra video and of course the game on DVD ROM @ £49.99.....With the assurance that I would receive one of ONLY 3000 units worldwide to be made in the Deluxe Version, with a certificate of authenticity and number. :up:

Well I got an E-Mail from UBI inviting me to be one of the first to buy the "Deluxe" Edition in the Tin can with Recce Manual/Maps/medals, plus an extra video and of course the game on DVD ROM @ £49.99.....With the assurance that I would receive one of ONLY 3000 units worldwide to be made in the Deluxe Version, with a certificate of authenticity and number. :up:

The DE version has some nice gadgets but the only reason I want it is the 60min documentary (which you lucky bastards get for 'free':p).

The only thing I really wish we could get from the DE version is that 116-page "deluxe" version of the recognition manual (incl. 20 additional pages). The rest of the DE extra contents I could do without.

Got paid today so I rushed off and preordered the game at .co.uk using the Subsim link from this thread.

Oddly the vanilla edition is sold out. So I had to order the
"Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific Collector's Edition - Amazon Exclusive"

Amazon Exclusive? WTF? Anyways, the price was a few pence short of £33 including VAT and shipping to Denmark.
