Short of still playing it, that really gives one a healthy taste! I haven't gone on patrol for a couple of months. Maybe its time to give AOD and SHCE a spin again.

It had some great interviews with the U-boat commanders!:know: :up: Just for the game:rock: . It had a dynamic campaign, good AI, great manual...

It did have some hella-nasty crash bugs though:shifty:

This thread brings back many memories. I played CAOD for many hours. What a truly awesome sim! :yep: I still have it in the cabinet. I remember the full installation only took 20MB of space. I don't think patches today are even smaller than that! :lol: The only real bug I hated with CAOD was the BSODs I would get, rather frequently, when trying to use FAT torpedoes (and sometimes LUT). :damn:

The bug I hated the most (other than the program crashes), the sub would suddenly surface (no button had been pushed!) They did fix this. They mailed out patch disks. Pre-internet days!
