Been studying... But when I have a course plotted with several Waypoints, things come up that make me want to 'move' a Waypoint. In other games I am familiar with, it is possible to just click and drag a 'mid-stream' WP to another location... Is this not possible in SH3 ?? Or have I missed something really 'basic' ?

Yes, just click on the the triangle in navigator panel, the pulldown in the upper right of the map screen, then find a way point flag without clicking on anything yet (or you lose your waypoint cursor) and hold the cursor over the flag. When it turns red, you've got it and can drag it as you like.

Sure thing.
Click on the plot tool and then maybe zoom in a bit on your map, then on a mouse ver a way-point it will turn red. Click and hold the mouse and when the point is where you want release.

Got it. A little 'trickier' than others, but I finally nailed the procedure. Thanks, guys. Take a couple shots of 'medicinal' alcohol from the gyro compass supply locker...

I'm working on a pretty detailed attack scheme...

Another similar question about waypoints.

When I have plotted a course with a zillion wayposts way down africa, and stumble upon a lonely cargoship which have my name on it.....

Is there a way of deleting all the waypoint in one go instead of deleting every single one?

The only way I know is to:
- click exactly of your first waypoint (i.e. select it),
- then add another one that becomes second and all the others dissapear,
- delete both of them.

But in such situation I do it other way - I start steering manually (rudder left/right) and after sinking the ship I order "back on course!".

Since we have another thread just below this with similar questions, I will just repost my reply from that thread here:

If you have NO navigation tools selected:
-----CTRL-Left click will center your U-boat under your cursor's current position

If you SELECT the "Triangle" navigation tool:

TO MOVE AN EXISTING WAYPOINT:
1. Select the triangle
2. Move it over the waypoint you wish to change, so that it highlights in red
3. Click and drag it to a new location. Release the button.
4. Right click to turn off the Triangle

TO INSERT A NEW WAYPOINT:
1. Select the triangle
2. Move it over the existing Waypoint you want to insert a new waypoint AFTER,
so that it highlights in red.
3. Cick once on it to select it. (Do not drag it)
4. Move the cursor to the position you want the new waypoint to be
5A. CTRL-Left click. This inserts the new waypoint leaving ALL other waypoints intact.
OR
5B. SHIFT-Left click, inserts the new waypoint, but deletes all waypoints AFTER this new waypoint.
6. Right click to turn off the Triangle

TO DELETE ALL WAYPOINTS
1. Select the Triangle
2. Press Shift-Delete. ALL waypoints will be deleted.
3. Right click to turn off the Triangle.

This works for other tools too. If you want to delete all "Markers" (but leave waypoints, compasses etc. intact), Choose the "Marker" tool. Press Shift-Delete and all of the "Markers" on the map will be deleted, leaving everything else intact.
