promotion problem

i finished patrol number 1 in gwx and when i returned to base i was promoted to oberluetnant z S. I exited out of sh3 and when i restarted it, it i was a luetnant z S again. i didnt make any changes or use any renown, i just went straight to exit after my patrol.

this is like the 3rd time this happened, any suggestions?

btw i have like 2500 renown

BTW did you use SH3Cmd? Because if you did it might adjust your promotion based on your renown.

i use sh3 commander, yes.

for the first promotion in gwx its only 1499 ronown. not 5000 ];

i see a lot of people have gotten this problem before, but no solutions

the only thing to do is to go right on patrol and not exit out, if you want to keep your new rank

I don't really think it is a problem. Either way promotions in SH3 are linked to renown so no matter when you start the mission you will still end up with the same rank. Also don't forget that unless you're playing 100% realism you will not get 100% of the renown.

the problem is fixed, i had to go straight to patrol if i wanted to keep the new rank. the error occurs when you go back out of the end patrol screen and reload the "in base before; or after" save, it rolls back your promotion

Yes, as you have figured out, here is your problem.

You should start from the "In base before" save point. Starting from the "In base after" save point means you lose everything that occurs in between, like ranks, upgrades, etc...

@melnibonian - nah, SH3Cmdr only *reads* rank, it never writes them.

verdamnt, i was about to load my mid patrol save game after, and i noticed onthe load screen it said i was luetnant z S again!

what is this problem!!!
