hi,

I recently re-installed GWX and it seems that alt-tab shortcut doesnt work anymore. (I play SH3 in full window). before, I could minimize SH3 to desktop panel without any problem. now it is not possible and after pressing alt-tab, I can only see flickering desktop panel (still in-game) but thats it and it wont switch to windows.

the only thing I changed after the GWX re-install, was the resolution (via MS compatibility toolkit) - as I bought a new widescreen display (1680*1050). but I cant believe this causes alt-tab not working.

help pls:shifty:

Yep, thats the reason... alt-tab doesn't work with the resolution fix.

I don't use Alt-Tab. Try the Windows Key, this should bring you back to the desktop.

If you want so switch between programs ie. SH3 and Internet Explorer, you can use Alt-Tab. Ctrl-Esc or Windows-key should take you to desktop.

I use the windows key also...but have on occasion run into this problem you are describing.....the flickering screen......on a different note....how is the game on a big widescreen display..??? Nice I bet.......

looks fantastic! I ordered my crew to fire on small tanker with a deck gun and pressed F12 for eye candy... it was wonderful watching these dense textures of smoke, explosions etc. ... and when you are looking at the screen, it is so HUGE you almost believe you are there:up:

btw, thanks for advices, however, I still didnt resolve my alt-tab issue...

Can you open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc?

Like Boris said, the resolution fix is the problem. I get this same problem with IL2 if the game resolution is different from the desktop resolution.

no. it just flickers. I am afraid I wont be able to handle it, if it is a resolution issue cause I want to let my resolution as it is...:shifty:

Then can it be fixed by changing the desktop resolution to match the game resolution before launching the game? Then changing back after quiting?

desktop and game resolution are the same... I checked it twice... the problem persists.

It's not related to the desktop res... the resolution fix has just always caused this problem. It's a side effect I didn't want to live with, so I'm back on 1024x768, but with AA and AF crancked up on full.
Looks great, hardly any noticeable pixelation, even on my 22" widescreen.

OK but I also have AA and AF "crancked up on full" and playing at 1680*1050 smoothly. I cant switch back to 1024*768 - I simply cannot, after having seen how wonderfuly the game looks at 1680*1050

Yes I did. Nothing. Nada. Nichts.

I have the problem too. There's not much to do about it, but if you can navigate using the keyboard you can actually use Windows fairly well, because the thing you select shortly appears on the screen.
