just got a 16:9 widescreen monitor and a new computer i still havent installed sh3 in my new computer but im curious ... how will sh3 look in widescreen since the resolution cant be changed ...:hmm:

The resolution can be changed, and there are several threads on how to do that. It's the aspect ratio that's hard. You will get a slightly longer looking boat and ships. This actually looks pretty nice, and it makes the exteriors seem more real. The only place you really notice the slight distortion is in any circle. Your periscope lens will be slightly oval, as will your instrument dials. It all depends how much that annoys you compared to the wider horizon you get. If you don't like the distortion, some screens and video cards allow you to resize to fit and then it will be in the correct ratio with letterbox lines on either side.

I owe a Widescreen myself and i think it's totally cool how things look.
The Sub interior has more depth and everythng seems more engrossing that way!

But after a time you won't notice the slight oval gauges or periscope:hmm:!

It all depends how much that annoys you compared to the wider horizon you get.

Will the horizon get wider? I believe you will get the same information on a wide screen and a 4:3 aspect ratio screen, but on a wide screen everything will be stretched - including the horizon.

sorry to bring this up again but ... well im not really shure what i am doing
my new monitor its a samsung it has digital and analog connections ... so like do i connect both or not ? in the instructions they connect both for what i understand .
but when the system starts it seems that the computer doenst know wich one to use ... i have to press the auto ajust button so i can do anything.

sh3 looks great and i do not have oval gauges and periscope
it looks great in 3D but on the menus and 2D stuff it looses definition and it gets all kind of ... chunky or ruff edged in the crew management menu and on the sliding bars ... but this happens only in the 2D menus

the new system came with a Geforce 7300 gt 512mb pure video wich is a very nice improovement for me ... since i was running a geforce fx 5200 128mb.

please post some opinions ... i know i know READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
