In SH3 Commander what time compression setting controls the speed that the game drops to when you get a radio messages?

It drives me nuts when travelling to my patrol area and every 3 seconds it seems at times have my game drop to 1x because of some radio transmission.Then having to come back to my computer to reset the TC to what it was.

I don't even read the transmissions or look at them as they hold no bearing to the game as they are simply there for immersion factor.For me they are more of a nuisance than anything.

If I can keep the game from constantly dropping to 1x when a transmission comes in then no biggie..otherwise what do I do to remove them?

Assuming you've default installed everything, in My Documents will be a SH3 folder. Open the folder inside there called data, then the folder called cfg inside that one.

(ex: C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg)

Open the file main.cfg with Notepad, or other editor. Look for [TIME COMPRESSION] You should see this (although your settings might be different than mine):

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=32
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=1
RadioReport=1
Particles=8
PrayState=8
HunterState=32
3DRender=128
Maximum=1024

Just change RadioReport to whatever TC you want.

edit: You can also use SH3Commander to change it, too. The applicable value is RadioReport

If you have SH3 commander installed you can change it there under the options tab. There is a whole list of Time compression Items that is changable.

Would it be under the sh3 options button/time compression/"when receive radio report"
Mine is set to 1 and I know when receiving "convoy/taskforce" reports it stays at whatever I have it set to. But when receiving radio "messege" it drops to 1.

Cheers guys...it was the cfg folder info I was after because for some strange reason SH3CMDR automatically refers back to TC x1 irrespective of what I set it too (and I have 5 separate installs). :up:

Same problem as earlier re-install and defrag has no change - I am thinking heat is the problem - normal CPU temps 111F - 122 Fand after CTD (almost always after or during interactions and attacks) temp is 155F - I looked but couldn't find online and Out of spec reading for CPU temps (Prescott 478 P4) - any comments?
