Here (http://www.hookedgamers.com/forwarder.html?http://www.hookedgamers.com/previews/2007/1/silent_hunter_4/)
Found this little preview for the Silent Hunter 4 game. Thought I would post it although it does not offer a great deal of new information .... it sure is nice to see other sites mention it's upcoming release.

Thanks for the info. In this article, they sound a little disappointed that there isn't much info on SH4 to date despite a spring release. Maybe they're dropping a hint. ;)
BTW Church Subsim, You're forum name cracks me up. Like playing Subsims are a religion or something. :rotfl: That's what I call dedication. :up::rock:

One of the things I didn't know is that the Pacific will be divided into 15 maps (not like SH3 1 world= 1map), reminds of that old sub sim that also played in the pacific (Silent Service?).
Another thing I've heard is that the time frame changed from '41-'44 to '41-'45.

It will be one world map, not "15 maps". The whole "15 maps" rumor was just a mistake, there were going to be 15 single missions and somewhere the translation for "missions" came out "maps".
Yes, the game will take the player through the end of the war, to Aug. 1945. You won't be able to start a career after 1944, but any career you start prior to '44 will continue through 1945.

Also, I read on their new site something about them having "10 instant action missions - Single Player" and "5 single patrol missions - Single Player". What differentiates these? just mission size?

Neal [Grumbles] Now he tells us (:p).

What differentiates these? just mission size?I guess the "Instant Action" ones are the one we get in Silent Hunter III, with the target in front of you and you ready to pull the trigger.
Patrol lenght missions probably have you carry out an entire patrol.
