Watch officer does not say "ship spotted anymore"??

There isnt an official sound mod for GWX
Not sure which one you have installed

Try disabling it and see what happens

Clear day??? No problem....but I am looking at a medium merchant in heavy fog 600 meters away clear as day and WO still claims "No Visual Target".

I am using NYGM but I think the same thing happens in GWX and Stock SH-3.

I dont like Venatores sound mod because in harbors you cant hear the seagulls and the boats horn also.

Try tweaking the speech setting up higher in the cfg file...change the crewman and ensure there's a suitably qualified officer up top :yep:

It's gotta be worth a try before going to the hassle of another install :hmm:

I tweaked TC settings a bit with SH3Commander to get higher TC during engagements and one side effect is that whenever I spot a neutral or allied vessel I drop down to TC 32 with just a text message but no spoken one but when I spot an enemy ship I drop down to TC 1 with an audible "Ship spotted!" from my WO. Saves the pain of identifying though I didn't wanna accomplish it this way...:hmm:

So maybe you played around with TC settings too...?

Another sound question - have no idea why, but my GWX/SH3 is very quiet, I hardly hear most of its sounds. Music is off, gramphone is off, all the settings at 100% and it's still much to quiet. Is it possible to set the volume as for example 200% or 300% in some cfg files? Will it work? Won't it crush the game? Any experience?

Fire up the game and click on options. Inside you will find the volume buttons for all sounds in the game.

Venatores sound mod does not affect the voice command stuff, just the .wav file stuff. I have it installed, no problems. I like it, as far as it being loud, and as mentioned here in these forums, just turn down some of the sounds with a sound editor.

I really like the internal sub ambiance file that comes with it, add some Das Boot chatter along with other stuff.

OKAY!!!!!!!...I'm at work at the moment so I can't look at the file structure of the install but if you can identify the file/folder and either post or PM me the info I will send my identical file/folder to you.
Hopefully this will remedy the situation because my voice commands are working fine :yep:

What does TC mean and how do you turn this up??? also where are the config files anyway to turn up audio in the game and how do you do this please ...

I find now that sometimes the WO says it and then doesnt what is going on !!!!

TC = Time Compression. I use the "+ -" keys on the number pad to turn it up or down. Sound levels can be adjusted in the options menu.

When running in TC sometimes I don't always here the report ship spotted, but it does show up in the information window and TC drops to 8X.

Yeah i have now noticed that i fiddled with the TC settings in SH3 Commander and my WO now says nothing and mimes it so i have become a lip reader, on returnig the TC settings back to default in SH3 Commander, it is better sometimes he does not say it and sometimes he does and that is even on the 1 TC setting in game when on the brideg coming out of harbour, VERY STRANGE this problem, have yet to hear him say aircraft spotted aswell!

Is this a bug then anybody?

Any TC over 1 and you will not hear your Watch Officer,Chief Engineer,Weapons Officer,etc. It will be visual text only. :arrgh!:

Not even will this little guy talk to you. :rotfl:
