Another simple ? question from a novice :

Downloaded the 23rd dec patch which is a 7z file (what the hell is a 7z file !!!). Now what .....? Tried to extract to mods folder in jgsme using winzip - doesnt recognize. What am I obviously doing wrong ?.

I thought I was fairly intelligent - 41/uni degree/two cars/loving wife etc etc. However, since I entered the broadband age and started actually downloading, I did not realise how easy it was to attain veeeeerrrrryyyyyy high blood pressure. :D

Shall read any replies after lying down with cuppa and rich tea biccy !!!.

First of all you need to download the 7z from here it's free http://www.7-zip.org/

Once you have the patch put it inside the C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3\MODS directory. After that you enable it with JSGME. Just make sure the folder structure is C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3\MODS\Dec-Patch\data etc and not C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3\MODS\Dec-Patch\Dec-Patch\data etc

To enable it you must disable all other mods you have and enable it first. After that you can enable all the mods you need. Rollback SH3commander - if you use it
Disable any mods through JSGME
Enable Dec 23rd patch
Re enable any of your favourite mods
