HUGE apologies if this has been asked, and answered, a gadzillion times before. I just tried dropping a few more .mp3 files into the data/sound/gramophone directory (which is now curiously full of .ogg files??) but the new ones won't play.

Let me guess... I need to discover how to convert .mp3 to .ogg? Erm, ow do I do that then?

Apologies for having the modding know-how of an oxygen-starved bilge rat.

Hi, there are a bucketload of conversion tools out there that will convert your mp3 stuff to OGG files. Personally, I use Acoustica Audio Convertor Pro .. long title but it does the job ! Hope this helps. Cheers.

Just use the search-option...we've had a few topics about this in the past weeks. :)

Starnge, my grammophone plays mp3s. I just copy and drop em over.

Many thanks, shipmates. Search commencing...

Anyone else enjoyed Stabiz's ease of .mp3 use in /gramophone with GWX? Most envious mate! Still, at least I get to broaden my laughable knowledge of file formats. :know:

It will, but some players complain of skipping or game-freezing when playing MP3 files. OGG files seem the most robust.

I've lost track of how many times I've tried to download that gramophone pack, and each time it's corrupt and can't be opened.:damn:

The music converter...then click on the 'codec central' tab and go to 'popular codecs' and download whatever ones you want (wav, ogg, mp3 etc.)

yes its corrupt but from this its an EASY fix:

Tried it, doesnīt work. The first byte of the file header isnīt there, thatīs easy to fix.

Download this file:
http://home.arcor.de/gizzmoe/files/r.txt (Right-click, Save as)

Copy it into the same directory as the rar archive, then start cmd (command line), go to the directory where both files are and run this command:

copy /b r.txt+"Ultimate Gramophone Pack - 150+ tunes and broadcasts.rar" new.rar

Then unpack new.rar.
