Today was a triumphant day for ferry operator kystlink, as today they took delivery of thier newest ferry Alkmini A.
The ferry which origionaly operated by steana line and later P&O ferries, was bought in 2004 for £186 million, after nearly a year and a haf of refublishment and set backs the ferry has finaly enterd service.
The launch marks kystlinks entrance to the cruise ferry market, as the Alkmini can become a cruise ship if need be.
Plans are to send the ship on a short 2 hour crossing in the baltic sea, from Norway to Denmark in the winter and select cruiser in the summer.
The ship is only 153 meters long and 28 meters wide, but can cruise at a top speed of 21 knots.
