View Full Version : Camera - unit view problem

Sometimes when I use the Camera for next/unit view keyboard ( . ), instead of showing the side of the U-boat or ship I see the stern instead. And then if I use the arrow keys to pan right, or left for that matter, the camera swings the view clock or counter clock wise instead of right or left like it should. The game plays fine otherwise but that view problem is a bit annoying.
What the heck is that all about?

I get it too. For me, it generally happens if I watch a ship sink with the lock on view (you known the '.' and ',' buttons). And then it usually only happens when the ship breaks into two.

Stock bug that´s still with us. Mostly happens after something has put extra load on your PC, as an big explosion.
You can press and hold CTRL + left or right arrow key to "slide" the camera sideways, or leftclick your mouse and then the arrow key, that lets you rotate and "tilt" the camera up and down and with the mouse while you can pan with the arrow keys.

Just go back to any other station (like F2=command-room), and hit the , or . key again...the view will be default.

I usually re-load the game, works fine afterwards...
Wow, I thought I had heard of all the bugs by now.

Been there done that, doesn't work on my set-up.
Saving the game in patrol then returning to it does. But that's a bunch of noise.

I don't think this bug has ever been addressed as fixable.
It nearly always happens when you use the 'next target' view and then the target you're looking at gets destroyed or even (in some cases) moves out of visual range and you are still watching it.
The most annoying thing with this bug is (as mentioned) that it can only be corrected by reloading your game.
The worst effect of this bug I have experienced is when the camera just 'races' up & down at an angle from the ocean floor to the limit of the sky.
We have to live with it, just save & reload.

Yes, sorry for my stupid post...it doesn't fix it. :damn:
By coïncidence, I had this bug too, yesterday...1st time I ever had it.
Camera kept on tilting up and down, no way to stop it, except reloading my game.
