I'm a new user of GWX - so far I only had install the expansion - but I detected that it had a looooong loading times and that the use of the F9 key crashes the game.
Any ideas?

My specs:
Pentium 4
2 GB RAM
Geforce Ti 4600

There should be no problem getting help here...but first you need to expand on what exactly you have installed on your computer :yep:

Thank you, but can you be more precise? It's the Graphic Card or the CPU? I don't think that the problem is the memory.

SH3/GW/GWX require a lot of RAM and CPU power. I have 512MB of Ram and a 3.3GHz laptop and I haven't seen any problems in the game. I don't think there is something wrong with your system, so as Jim suggested can you please describe what the problem is? That way we can understand a bit more about it and we might be able to help you. BTW what do you mean about loooong loading times? Are we talking a couple of minutes here or hours? Because on my system it takes about 5 minutes to load the mission (or save game)

Also as far as the graphics card is concerned. If you have 128MB on it you should be OK. I would suggest though to get the latest drivers just to be on the safe side

Hi, I recommend upgrading your graphics card, 6600 or above if poss.
Alternative is to check your drivers are up to date.

Thanks guys.
Long loading times: 3-4 minutes for the games.
But that is not the problem. I was exploring the new graphics on GWX and I detect that hiting the F9 key (goes to the sonar/radio screen) the game, and this the correct situation, frozen. No more mouse, nothing!

Those loading times are about right for your system.

As for the screen locking up, this is possibly due the extra graphics that need loading. I have even noticed it myself but after the first time it's ok. Does it continue for ever? Also try pressing R and see what happens.

Also is possible reduce the graphic load moving the Particles bar in options
close all uneeded background programs.

I have 512 with a 6600 gt card and runs ok. with particles at 100
also i use the classic windows interface and in Xp administrative tools>services> y closed all unneeded services that loads at windows start.

all helps a bit with low memory system. but i will buy a 1gb stick the next weeks because 512 is in the edge for a suficient performance.

The loading times can ge long, but GWX is worth the wait. Just more time for you to visit the local watering hole.

Also, do you have the 16k mod working? This makes for some long loading times.
