Can you actually hold a view on a plane etc when they are moving, or is it the case of being skilled in following it with your keyboard skills????

just pause the game in free view, it lets you move and zoom the camera.

If your crew spots the plane then you can follow it through the next unit view
, and . on the keyboard
Or try to folow in F12 but its a bit difficult

You can also use '<' and '>' to cycle through the visible targets: ships, subs, planes, land weapon mounts, etc. Once you've cycled through and the plane appears, the camera will continue following it like a loyal dog at heel. :)
You can also use the other camera functions: zoom in/out, rotate sideways, rotate up and down, too, once you've 'locked' onto a target using < & >.

Dont forget that when u spotted a land target withouts mods and when u use the < or > the cam bounces instead on the ship or whatever.

I was going to post a question relating to this, but found this thread:up: Can you alter the cfg files for this so you cannot go to the next unit, but still use it to see your sub.
I would like to add more realism, but again still want to have the option of seeing the whole sub, but not via the F12 key. Thanks.

Just don't do it... :D Only press the key once to have your sub view, then revert to deck or command room...

I know show restraint, but it still would be nice to remove this option via game files.
