in stock SH3/SH3 commander

1)

when several compartments are damaged and under flooding, when I click on compartment, it shows time remaining to stop the flooding by damage control team, while in other compartments that are also seriously damaged and apparently under floodings it doesnt show anything?? and then it becomes critical and i really dont know where should i assign them first and why the hell they cant divide into two teams to work on two places?

2) aircrafts...in late 43

how is it possible that after some single plane spots (or radar detects) me 100 miles off the coast of Africa, in about 2 minutes sky is crawling with 10 other airplanes??? are they using bloody supersonics or what?

3) bernard & lazy crew....
probably some game glitch but...I saved before I submerged and when after several minutes convoy escort DD came after me and I tried to maneuver speed dropped to 0 even when I had guys in both diesel and electric and Bernard start to give me this bs "Not enough crew in diesel compartment" (nothing was damaged)

I guess it was kind of suicide revolt from the crew, they just made me to sit there and get nailed by incoming another 7 DDs!!!!

SO i reload last save position and guess what, it happens again. So in the end I had to restart the whole patrol :(

1. You should assign the the one that's flooding fastest. Click on each compartment that's flooding to see the time to stop flooding in the bottom right hand corner of the compartment.

2. They fly in groups and when one spots you they radio for their friends.

3. This is a stock bug that some times occurs. Have a search as IIRC there may be a fix for this discussed in an older thread.

Also remember that every crewman in a given compartment does his best to stop flooding when it comes to it. So if your repair crew is too little and can't help a lot, just place your ordinary crewmen in the compartments that need their hands, and they'll do their best. Then you usue your repair team only in that places that have too few slots to put enough crew in and that are flooded fastest or are most flooded and your boat falls down to sea floor or need to be repaired first on some tactical purposes.

As for Q2, they got Airbases on them silly small islands that look uninhabited. just open your LND in mission editor and take a look or there's a carrier lurking not very far from you.

With regards to your first question.

It has been a while since I've been on Subsim but if I remeber correctly (and if I'm wrong someone please correct me) you can't "split" your dedicated repair team into more than one team. On the other hand in some compartments the crew in the area, ie the sailors working thier (not the repair team) can make repairs, of course at a slower rate no doubt but it will help you control the damge in the rest of the ship while your repair team secures the hull. I believe the only compartments that can not be repaired by present crew, again ie not your repair team, are the aft and forward crew holding areas. These areas can only be repaired by your repair team. All other compartments, ie engines, sonar, torpedos, control room, can be somewhat repaired by the crew present in them, allowing you to dedicate your repair team to more serious areas. Mind you, you can only repair damage sustained to the conning tower when you are surfaced!
