It's an option you can choose, if you use SH3Commander.

If your running She3 Commander 2.7 click SH3 options then click text
settings. At top of list you;ll see "hide or show hull integrity %.Click show.

Or you can do it with Realism settings in SHIII it's self. That's how I got rid of it. It is in SHIII Cmdr 2.7, SHIII Options/Text Settings.

EDIT
LOL you beat me to it Firewall.

Here is my deal on this. The hull integrity was removed for more realism. Unfortunate when you have it, the figure shown is accurate and this will play a part in your decision to do certain things or not do them. Without it, you are taking your best guess. We know that most engineers would give the captain his best guess on hull damage and the captain would base his decision on this best guess. In my view there should be something other than a number for hull integrity. In other words, the engineer would state, hull in poor condition or light damage. The engineer is never 100% sure of the damage and what the boat can do or not do. IMHO there should be :

Light Damage
Moderate Damage
Severe Damage
WE ARE SINKING!

Since the engineer is making his best guess, then the captain will need to make his best guess as what to do. I think the guys who created GWX are working on something like this.

If you're looking for a quick fix, There's a .cfg? file somewhere (forgot wich one) where you can make a small switch and presto... it's back. I had the exact same thing lately.

Maybe someone else remembers, otherwise get SH3Commander. No Kaleun should be without it :) You can turn it back on using SH3Cmdr as well and it keeps your files clean.

Until this comes along, I'll stick with the hull integrity being on.

I agree. Unfortunately without the numbers there is no way to make an assessment of how badly damaged the boat is. IRL the crew would be able to gauge roughly the level of damage.

You can turn it on again in SH3 commander v2.7

However, what I prefer more is telling me
no damage :D / light damage :) / moderate damage :o / heavy damage :nope: / critical damage:damn: instead
