I have been researching the U-123 for some time now, but still can't find what she had painted on the conning tower, if anything. If some one knows please let me know. Thanks....:up:

If you use GWX, have a look at the "U-123.tga" somewhere among your files, or just paint your boat with this mark.

Only pic of the 123 I found that shows conning tower is this one - and you cant see the sides :damn:

pg 10-11 of Operation Drumbeat says that painted on the conning tower was "representations of the badge given to soldiers who had been wounded three times in battle: crossed swords against a helmet surrounded by laurel wreaths.", then later a drum.

You can definitly see this on the picture that Bigboy sent over. No question on the conning tower now. Cool beans, now you can make one:up:
