We in the south of England no longer get a true winter all we get is the odd cold snap. And the temperature here is 45°F no wind and the sun is out which makes it feel warmer.

Well much colder now in my computer room having got rid of my AMD Athlon XP1900+ for an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 system. :smug:

Apart from that this winter has been very mild. In fact I have only had to remove frost from my car windscreen twice and we are already half way through January. :o

Right now it's -4 F/ -15.5 C in Denver.

I'm so thankful that this is a kind of cold that I can tolerate. In Idaho the cold is a wet cold that HURTS, here it's just cold (like being in a walk in freezer).

I'd have used the degree symbol, but apparently trying to enter ASCII characters in on this board causes it to take me to a random page. Alt+23 take me to my Control Panel :fff:

Stockholm: 0 C and there is a hurricane outside my window... and loads of snow.
My beloved mother is taking the ferry today from Poland to Sweden, I spoke to her a moment ago and she said that the ship is grounded in harbour until 00:00 hours, they where supposed to leave it at 18:00 hours.
Earlier today there was a big hurricane in the southern parts of the Baltic, but everything has moved up north now.

Reason it may be so cold is because I'm in the bottom of a dell so the cold air settles right where I am.

Back in February 1985 we had a true cold spell (at least for us). One morning in Salt Lake it was -15 F and when I got to Park City it was -44. Only lasted a week, though, and it only happened once in the 36 years I've been here.

I'm up in the air on that one. In '78 we had a winter with no snow at all, even at the ski resorts, but in '82 and '83 we had two winters in a row with twice the normal snowfall. Snowbird ended up with 940 inches the first year, and the two-years accumulation runoff ended up flooding downtown Salt Lake City.

Its really not that bad mate! We'll get the boat down to the lake for a sail, jump in if theres no wind, and go flyin along the lake when there is! not to mention the abundence of public pools that you can go and cool down at, complete with an array of fine sights at the pool as well.

Also, down here, if it hits that temp then half of canberra packs up and heads to the south coast for the day, its great because its only 90 mins drive to the beach:yep:

In winter, it gets too cold for my liking, mainly because im an AFL umpire and standing out in the cold wind with rain pouring down can be mightily unpleasant

Not bad too bad here in the sun in the day time ...
if you stay close to the window with the heater on that is.

It's not just the weather changing ...
the magnetic poles are changing and by the year 2012
you will see a real dramatic change ...

Like has never happened in the earth before

And here I was for those 40C+ days down at the bay in Geelong enjoying 25C plus sea-breezes so missed them all (got the regular updates from colleagues suffering through it though, LOL!). Bummer, LOL!

Mind you, I've felt the heat over the last few days when catching the lovely un-airconditioned ACTION buses home from work.

Was an absolute scorcher here in Melbourne yesterday. 40°C.

A Bushfire up north cut out some main power transmitters, which in turn left half the city without electricity for a few hours. Turning my home into an oven.

Went to the beach last night, pitty i wasn't the only one with that idea. After midnight the beach was still as crowded as I've ever seen it, and I've been living here my entire life.

I should move to Canada, because this heat just ain't my thing.

That was the total fall for the entire winter (still pretty good since the normal average is 450). I think the deepest it got was around 250 inches.

65 huh? I was working outdoors doing day labor, but right now it's only 24 F out and that's just a bit on the cool side for me.
